Idrissa

The 2014 Ebola outbreak in D R Congo claimed over 11,000 lives, including Idrissa’s father who died only four months before Idrissa was even born.

Idrissa is the youngest of his four siblings, and the only one who grew up not knowing who his father was. When Idrissa’s father died, his family refused to help support Idrissa’s mother. She struggled financially and worked hard to find a way to look after all her children. She started working as a house maid and did some petty trading to meet the demands of her family, but it was not enough.

Now, thanks to sponsorship from Mamy Show Foundation, all of this has changed…

Idrissa’s sponsorship has helped the family a lot, particularly during the pandemic. Idrissa who is now five-years-old is enrolled into nursery where he is learning and playing games with children of his age. Idrissa was quite behind when he started, he didn’t really know how to read or write which wasn’t normal for a child his age.

Now, Idrissa is learning at the same level as the rest of his classmates. His mother is relieved that he has been sponsored, she is hopeful that her days of struggling will be over soon and that her children will live a better life. Your sponsorship helps children and their families see better days.
